Schwartz – Taste of the Nation

Driving frequency in a commodity category.

Challenge

Schwartz is the UK market leader in herbs and spices enjoying massive levels of household penetration. It suffers however from low frequency and rate of purchase.

Insight

As the staple brand in UK households spice racks Attention recommended leveraging their dominant market position by reaffirming its status as the nations favourite herb and spice brand.

Solution & Results

We offered consumers the opportunity to vote for their favourite British dish with participants entered in to a prize draw for a holiday to Spain.

Visibility for the activity was generated through point of sale supported with a micro site.

Activity has proved a tremendous success with retailers and consumers driving sales by over 14%. Work is currently underway to develop the concept for 2006.
